Gigi Rüf is widely considered one of the most stylish, versatile, and creative snowboarders of all time. Gigi had his breakthrough in 2000, when his part in the Kingpin Productions classic Destroyer had viewers on the edge of their seats. It included a raft of banging tricks and lines and was followed by awesome parts for Pirate Movie Production, Absinthe Films, and many others. Gigi became a household name worldwide without following a classic contest career, although, he has taken part in backcountry freestyle or freeride contests from time to time, winning the Red Bull Ultra Natural 2013, in British Columbia, Canada, and the Fieberbrunn stop of the 2018 Freeride World Tour. Gigi was also part of the infamous Burton Uninc crew and rode Volcom decks for many years, before he created his own brand, Slash Snowboards. With his roots embedded in the freestyle scene, Gigi stands out as a playful, democratic and inspiring backcountry rider who is able to read and interpret the mountain like no other. Combining stylish trickery, unique line choice and exceptional riding skills, many call him the ultimate all-rounder. But most important, Gigi’s riding style is all about fun.
