Mountain biking the modern way

Kara’s path to an ambassadorial role for TSG is a thoroughly modern one: A full-time critical care nurse, she found herself filming her mountainbiking other half Tom Cardy with buddy Sam Pilgrim. When Tom got hooked up with a couple of e-bikes from Haibike, in January 2019, Kara got in the saddle and had soon swopped sides of the lens with Tom. Now he’s shooting follow-cam as she pumps and jumps her way down ever more gnarly “flowy downhill trails” – her favourite terrain – and bike parks. Her YouTube channel now has 22,000 fans and counting and as the numbers shoot up so does the height and hardness of the stuff she’s riding. Influencer is a bad word these days but Kara is doing it for real and really giving her followers something to sink their teeth into. So next time you’re blasting around Rogate Bike Park or Aston Hill and see Kara blazing the trails rest assured if you bail Kara is not only pretty handy on a bike but is also good at first aid.
